Ryan Flood

Ryan Flood is the President of The Bowline Group, a boutique consulting firm working at the intersection of government, politics, business, public affairs and law enforcement. TBG advises organizations and leaders on government affairs, political strategy, communications, strategic positioning and relationship development.

Ryan has spent much of his career building relationships across government, politics, business and law enforcement. Today, his work connects him with elected officials, political leaders, corporate executives, national organizations and law enforcement leaders across the country. Those relationships give him a unique perspective on how decisions made in one arena can create opportunities and challenges in another.

Prior to founding The Bowline Group, Ryan served as Vice President of Government Affairs for the Natural Products Association, where he led the organization’s government affairs efforts and legislative strategy at both the state and federal levels. In that role, he worked directly with elected officials, regulators, industry leaders and other stakeholders on a wide range of policy and legislative issues affecting the natural products industry.

A veteran of the United States Coast Guard, Ryan began his career in politics working on campaigns at the local, state, federal and international levels, eventually moving into senior advisory roles and advising political leaders in three different countries. He has also held senior positions in both the Virginia and New Jersey state legislatures, giving him firsthand experience with the legislative process and an understanding of how policy and politics come together inside government.

Ryan resides in Freehold, New Jersey with his wife Megan, their son Alex, and their dog Cooper.
